That’s right dude (or dudette)....you heard right!
You remember the 80’s, right? Big hair, acid washed jeans, leg warmers, mullets? Exactly and we’re bringing it back for this exclusive road rally!
Of course as a Maverick event this isn’t JUST a straight trip up the coast because you’ll be using a GPS, solving intricate clues and videoing parts of it for points along the way. Think Amazing Race combined with Da Vinci Code and stir in a little 'YouTube' for good measure.
Here’s how it’ll work: Each day there will be a new adventure starting with your first clue in the morning leading you to your classified route and "80’s missions" to record. Each mission has a point value assigned to it and like a 'video' scavenger hunt you’ll have to decide which item you want to capture on film to win the rally. But the only points you are credited for is if you film your mission on tape. The competition-o-rama is going to be fierce for each 2-person car competing for cheesy (yet wonderful) 80’s prizes.
Don’t worry you’ll be equipped with GPS and Flip Cameras (even though they didn’t exist in 1985!)
Starting in a mystery location around Los Angeles, CA we’ll motor up the coast to Big Sur, San Francisco and then finally arriving in Napa Valley, CA.

We’ll start off Day One with our special business icon, John Paul, or J.P. as his friends call him, who holds the rank of #261 on Forbes list of World’s Richest with an estimated $2.5B net worth. J.P. will be joining us on this first leg of the rally from Los Angeles and sharing his incredible rags-to-riches story.
He’s the co-founder of John Paul Mitchell Hair Care Systems and Patron Spirits Company however he started with incredibly modest beginnings...
The son of immigrant parents from Italy and Greece learned the value of hard work early in life. John Paul and his brother would get up at three in the morning to fold and deliver newspapers doing their part to help support the family while they were both still in grammar school. At a very young age, he spent time in the company of a street gang in East Los Angeles, then enrolled in the U.S. Naval Reserve while still in high school and after graduation, joined the Navy with aspirations of attending dental school. Although discharged with honors, that turned out to be not an alternative financially.
Soon thereafter, an early but brief marriage left DeJoria a single father with a young son to support. He took on an assortment of odd jobs to make ends meet — everything from pumping gas, repairing bicycles and working as a janitor to honing his sales skills by selling encyclopedias, photocopying machines, dictating equipment and even life insurance.
This was a particularly trying time for DeJoria. While still in his early twenties and too proud to ask for help, he found himself homeless on more than one occasion. Then in 1971, he knew he'd met his calling when he accepted a position at Redken Laboratories, the leading professional hair salon product company in the U.S. at the time, on a starting salary of only $650 a month.
The real turning point came when DeJoria joined forces with his friend, Paul Mitchell, then one of American's most influential hair designers. Together they bankrolled the company on the borrowed sum of $750 to introduce their revolutionary sculpting lotions, hair setting and styling methods. Even today's well-known image of black and white packaging is the result of those early days of not being able to afford colored ink.
According to DeJoria, the company was extremely lucky to make it through that very tough first year when it should have went bankrupt 50 different times. Today, John Paul Mitchell Systems empires surpasses $1B in sales each year.
His charitable philosophy of "Success unshared is failure," has been responsible for donating millions of dollars and being personally involved in numerous philanthropic adventures on the frontlines.
Day One: Big Sur
You’ll finish Day One amongst the green and gold flowered hills of the rugged Big Sur Coast. Our stopping point is the Ventana Inn & Spa - a magnificent Central Coast California resort.
Nestled on a hillside overlooking the dramatic Pacific coastline, Ventana Inn is a luxurious Big Sur resort. Located on 243 acres in the heart of Big Sur, the Inn's unique one-and two-story buildings blend seamlessly into their natural surroundings. Relax poolside, soak in Japanese hot baths or just contemplate the sky from your own private hammock.

Exclusive Zeppelin Experience
Then once we hit Northern CA the adventure is taken to a whole new level with an exclusive ride onboard the largest airship in the world, the 246-foot long Zeppelin (one of only 3 operating in the world!).
The airship is 15 feet longer than a Boeing 747, and 50 feet longer than the largest blimp currently operating.
It’s been decades since an airship floated over the U.S. and now you’ll be one of the very first to experience it again. Day Three: Napa Valley

Maverick Business Adventures® Membership Is Intentionally NOT Open To Everyone...
Each one-of-a-kind trip is exclusive by invitation-only based on an application process or by-referral only from other members. You cannot just send in a check. For this kind of experience and for each member to get maximum benefit you will need to meet these 3 important initial qualifications:
Qualification #1
You must be a successful business owner, entrepreneur or high-achiever. This membership is strictly for top-gun entrepreneurs only. Applicants must have a minimum gross revenue of $1M in their business. On average members are involved in businesses ranging from $1M to $30M+ business.
Qualification #2
You are willing to share your business successes openly and candidly with other members. (Each member will sign a confidentiality agreement so you do not need to worry about competitors.) Qualified member will also be selected for what they 'bring to the table' and it's important that you're willing to share your unique skills, resources and knowledge.
Qualification #3
You cannot be a jerk with a huge ego! This is a pretty simple qualification and you know if this is you. We don't accept just anyone who can stroke a check. Q. Can a spouse or companion come?
A. Yes. But only if they are part of the adventure they will need to pay the same price for the trip but they will not need to pay for the membership initiation. We cannot accommodate spouses or companions for the social functions for the Road Rally because we are moving from location to location each day.
Q. What kind of shape do I need to be in to participate?
A. As long as you are in moderate shape this adventure should not be a problem. As with any activity -- it's a good idea to check in with your physician.
Q. Should I drive a car from 80’s? Do you provide a car for me?
A. Your experience fee does not include a car – you can bring your own or rent one. We will provide you with assistance for shipping cars or renting.
