Maverick to IceMan:
“Here’s The REAL ‘Top Gun’ Business Adventure…”
MBA BreakAway Experience: “The Sky’s The Limit” -
Las Vegas, NV - November 5th – 8th, 2009
Dear Maverick member,
I recently realized something…
I can’t promise you ‘Top Gun Business Adventures’ without giving you the opportunity to fly your own fighter airplane (and relive scenes from the movie “Top Gun”).
I mean – c’mon Tom Cruise’s character was named Maverick, right?…
This was clearly meant to be.
So if you think you’re up to the challenge, on November 5th - 8th , flying high above the deserts of Las Vegas, you get to BE Maverick for a day…
You’ll get training from actual Top Gun Fighter Weapons School instructors and U.S. Military combat pilots… then suit up and hop in your very own SF-260 Marchetti Italian fighter plane!
This military aircraft has unique side-by-side seating, allowing you to sit next to your instructor and have the maximum amount of time at the controls.
Other than take-off and landing, you’re in control of the airplane the whole time.
And this plane isn’t some crop duster… it’s a $450,000 combat ready fighter–trainer, capable of pulling up to 6 G’s and flying 271 miles per hour. Forget simulators… You’re going to fly the real deal.
Day One: Maverick Adventure
You’ll start your ‘ground school’ being trained by fighter pilots who flew actual combat missions in Vietnam and Desert Storm… All fully qualified Air Combat Tactics Instructors.
You’ll learn fighter maneuvers and the art of air-to-air combat, exactly as taught by the U.S. military…
Which will come in handy, as your next mission is to work with your instructor as a team to outsmart, outmaneuver, and outgun your opponents in 5 serious “g-pulling” dogfights.
Picture it…
You climb into the cockpit and slide the cover closed over your head…Strapped in tight, you lift off in your Marchetti SF-260 aerobatic fighter plane. After a few minutes, your instructor, the only other occupant, says, “Okay all yours!” and hands you over the stick.
Gaining speed as you climb, you’re soon nothing but a silver streak in the sky. But this is no joyride up here … because your enemy is also hurtling through the air – somewhere – in a desperate attempt to hunt you down.
With one eye on your instruments, the other scanning the skies, your attention and reflexes are being pushed to the limit. You know there can be only one victor. It’s gonna be you … or them.
You’re pinned back into your seat as your tight turn pulls as many Gs as an F-16! Coming back around, you slip in behind them, hoping the element of surprise is on your side. Like a rollercoaster ride without the track, you twist this way and that … climbing, then looping over backward … you tip a wing and slip sideways as if on ice … whipping your head back and forth and overhead, until finally you lock your sights on your bogey once again…
And as you rapidly fire off a blistering round, the plane ahead of you erupts in a plume of thick grey smoke … and you roll away to the side, to return to base. VICTORIOUS!
Three cockpit cameras record the tense action including a gun-sight mounted camera that capturing the sights and sounds of every kill for posterity (and taunting later)!
Dinner In The Sky
After a full out, white-knuckled day tearing up the sky, what could be more appropriate than having “Dinner in the Sky?”
Considering this was devised by Stefan Kerkhofs – the creative genius responsible for all of TV’s Fear Factor challenges – you know you’re in for something special.
Your host will ensure you’re comfortably strapped in to your leather chair … then, once all dinner guests are secure, your dining platform is hoisted by 200-ton crane 16 stories into the air (180 feet)! Trust me, you’ve never had dinner with a more spectacular 360-degree view than this one.
Pivot your seat 180 degrees, suspended above the city with a mind-blowing scene of the Las Vegas strip… while being served a 5-star meal.
Forbes named Dinner in the Sky one of the “10 most unusual restaurants in the world”… I’m sure you’ll agree this is a true Maverick experience unlike any other.

Day Two: Maverick Breakthrough Business Day
At Maverick Business Adventures® — we’re out to change the way business is played. That means there is no "business as usual" here. The next day takes our breakthrough business session indoors. (We thought you might appreciate keeping your feet on the ground by now.)
And to help us with exactly that, we have a special guest – business icon Tony Hsieh (pronounced ‘Shay’), CEO of Zappos.com.
As a 24-year-old Harvard Grad, Tony sold his company, Internet advertiser LinkExchange, to Microsoft for $265 million in 1998.
A year later, he invested in Zappos.com, which he describes as “a service company that just happens to sell shoes.” He led Zappos from $1.6M in gross sales in 2000, to over $1 billion in 2008 by focusing relentlessly on customer service. (Yes, that’s Billion with a capital “B”!)
You’ll get to learn some of the insider info that Tony used to create this incredibly successful company when he gives us a special behind-the-scenes “field trip” to Zappos headquarters for our business session.
What’s Tony’s secret? It’s one word….
SERVICE
His goal is simple: Make his customers’ lives as easy as possible. That means no-hassle returns (he guarantees his stuff for 365 days) and free shipping (back & forth) on everything...
Here’s one example of just how serious Tony is about treating his customers like Gold: Every new Zappos.com employee hired in the corporate office has to go through 4 WEEKS of Customer Loyalty training... That means the new employee spends 20 full days answering phones in the call center—before they ever actually begin the job they were hired to do.
For Tony, customer service isn't just a department — it is the entire company. And you’ll get to grill him on exactly what they do that’s skyrocketing their sales each year! Plus perhaps we’ll get to answer:
Or perhaps we’ll get Tony to share how he has over 1,300,000+ followers on Twitter and his take on Social Media.

Yes, Zappos.com is probably a little out of the league of our typical attendee — but that’s exactly why you want to pay close attention and apply some of these amazing growth strategies to your business.
Plus, after Tony’s uncensored session and Zappos field trip we’ll continue our business sessions. Maverick Business Sessions vary by adventure & experience but previously we’ve done:
As a reminder, Members adhere to a confidentiality agreement so what is discussed and shared during the business sessions goes no further than the room. Side note: Don't worry if you're a little uneasy about public speaking — this isn't the same. It's more like a group of friends coming together who share a love of adventure and business success. You don't need a prepared PowerPoint or anything like that. Plus, another big benefit of you teaching is that you become sharper at that skill
High-level connections and deal making
There’s no doubt, during the ‘off hours’, you'll have a deep level of connection here due to the unique, shared experience with like-minded people. You never know who will come out and you can be sure it won't just be 'anyone' because of the qualification process.
Only successful entrepreneurs with the right attitude are invited on the trip. Just imagine what meeting one right person would mean to your business or life.
Here Are Just a Few of the Deals Fellow Mavericks Report Back On:
"... The total that I got from meeting just 2 guys on these trips was worth $283,000 to me. So I think I’m paid from Maverick until the year 2416!" — Mike Filsaime, NY (Online Business)
"... putting a deal together and made over $7,000,000 in sales in a month. That just doesn’t happen every day. " — Brad Fallon, Atlanta, GA, (eCommerce Expert)
Okay but after business comes…
Day 2 Evening: Where Things Really Heat Up…Err…Cool Down!
We’ll start the night at one of the coolest restaurants in Vegas, MIX…

With its stylish lounge and cuisine from world-renowned chef Alain Ducasse,
MIX in Las Vegas is a dining destination. Soaring high into the sky atop the Hotel at Mandalay Bay, MIX boasts some of the most astounding views of the Strip (though not the same as Dinner in the Sky from the previous night).
Awarded “Best Restaurant” by the Travel+Leisure Design Awards 2006, Mix’s sensually seductive interior boasts a stunningly beautiful 24-foot chandelier … made up of 15,000 individually-hand-blown glass spheres.
But things get even cooler after dinner…
From 180 Above to 5 Below…
After being suspended up 180 feet above the strip the night before, nothing makes more sense than going down to Minus 5… It’s the ‘lowest’ club in Vegas…
Lowest temperature that is.
Like made from 18 tons of ICE!
(In case you missed the Iceland Ultimate Viking Experience, here’s your chance to experience the next best thing…)
Minus 5 is an exclusive lounge made entirely from ice; the walls that enclose you, the seats that you sit on, the amazing sculptures that surround you and even the glasses that you sip the famous vodka-based cocktails from (vodka because it won’t freeze!).
The whole lounge is kept at a constant temperature of (you guessed it) five degrees below freezing, but due to unique engineering, it’s a dry-air environment, which means that (with the insulated jacket and gloves they loan you) you’ll be sipping your drink in comfort and arctic style…
Now, after dinner you’re free to explore the famous Vegas strip, retire to your room or join us for an optional VIP night out at one of Vegas’ hottest clubs!

Additional Q & A
Q. I’d like to bring a friend who is also a successful entrepreneur?
A. Sure, “The Sky’s The Limit” adventure is a great spot to bring a friend or colleague to experience what Maverick is all about.
Q. Can my spouse come?
A. Absolutely — if they are part of the adventure they will need to pay the same price for the trip but they will not need to pay for the membership initiation. Or if they wish to simply 'hang out' at the hotel but join us for the social functions (such as the meals, dinner, etc.) there is a $500 companion fee. (Note: The dinner in the sky evening is not part of the companion fee because there is no extra room unless they pay the full experience cost.)
Q. What kind of shape do I need to be in to participate?
A. As long as you are in moderate shape this adventure should not be a problem. As with any activity — it's a good idea to check in with your physician.
Q. Can I just book direct with your featured outfitters?
A. Frankly, you can contact each one yourself if you wanted to individually book and we do not hide who our suppliers are because we only work with the absolute most experience, top-notch and safety conscious vendors. However, we've created a customized and unique itinerary of experiences that their participants never see. Plus, it will not include the business building sessions, high-profile guest experts or your fellow like-minded entrepreneurs.
Q. Who else will be going on this trip? What happens if it's a competitor or someone I don't like?
A. Because of the screening process we weed out negative people as much as possible. Plus, each person is a successful entrepreneur, which means you'll have plenty in common. And if you are worried about a competitor remember each member is required to sign a confidentially pledge. On previous trips there has been everyone from International resort developers to online superstars to leaders in the financial sector to $100M manufacturing businesses & more. This kind of diversity leads to new ways of looking at your business and breakthroughs and don’t normally occur.
Q. Is this really tax-deductible?
A. One of the main purposes of each trip is to dramatically grow your bottom line so it should be tax deductible. Of course, you should check with your Accountant or tax professional for their final say.
